Mr. Charles Edward Eddie Nettles, Sr., 70, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, March 21, 2009, at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of America.
Mr. Nettles was born June 30, 1938 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Douglas Nettles and Louise Craven Nettles. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Nettles Jr., a sister, Lois Hughes of Ravenel, South Carolina; and a brother, Marshall Nettles of Hampton, South Carolina. He was a retired agent from Life of Georgia and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are: two daughters, Cheryl D. Braun (Mel) of North Charleston, South Carolina and Allyson M. Fink (Robert) of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Alene Strickland of Charleston, South Carolina, Jewel Kinard of Hampton, South Carolina, Marie Baker (Roger) of Cottageville, South Carolina and Miriam Newton (Jimmy) of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Mendell L. Nettles (Sheryl) of Ravenel, South Carolina and Lewis Hughes of Ravenel, South Carolina; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
