Charles Anderson Gibson

March 22, 1945 - August 10, 2011

Mr. Charles Anderson Gibson, 66, of Cross Swamp Road, Islandton, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Roper-St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Rice Patch Christian Church in Islandton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Gibson was born March 22, 1945 in Islandton and was a son of the late Brantley and Sallie Sauls Gibson. He was a press operator with NEVAMAR in Hampton and served his country in the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Rice Patch Christian Church. He was an avid farmer and fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his children, David C. Gibson and his wife Sharon of Walterboro and Cindy G. Thomas and her husband David of Hampton; sisters, Loraine Priester of North Augusta and Valarie Hiers of Walterboro; brothers, Morris Gibson of Mullins, Henry Gibson of Sumter and Norman "Sonny" Gibson of Islandton; and grandchildren, Hannah and Kaleb Gibson and Brantley and Allie Thomas.
