Mr. Charles Desmond Fletcher, known to all as “Moon”, 73, of Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Boundary Street, Beaufort.
Mr. Fletcher was born January 7, 1942 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Desmond Willis Fletcher and Florrie Mae Headden Fletcher. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired painter.
Surviving are: his wife, Deborah Bridgers Fletcher of Bamberg; children, Todd R. Fletcher and his wife Camille of Bamberg, and Melinda Jones and her husband Mark of Orangeburg; step-children, Brian Forbes and his wife Kevyn of Raleigh, Gary Forbes and his wife Becky of Raleigh, and Rhonda Dibble and her husband Greg of Germany; grandchildren, Ronald, Donald, Barbara Ann, Kahl, Kohl, Emmanuel, Kylee, Deandre, Chad, and Kayla; great grandchildren, J.J., Jacob, Clara, and Chloe, step-grandchildren, Mischa, Nikolai, Keiran, Miranda, and Tyler; brothers, Harold Fletcher, Calvin Fletcher, and Joe Fletcher, all of Walterboro; sisters, Mary Pellum and Judy Groves, both of Walterboro; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward D. Fletcher; and a brother, Terry Fletcher.
