Mr. Charles Glynn Davis, 78, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, June 28, 2023, at Sprenger Healthcare of Bluffton.
Born September 11, 1944, in Ridgeland, he was a son of the late James Boyce “Buck” Davis and Genevieve Hodges Davis. He was a 1964 graduate of Ridgeland High School. He served his country in the South Carolina Army National Guard and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor from Westinghouse, where he worked for 36 years.
Mr. Glynn was a devoted member of Varnville United Methodist Church, where he was active with the Young at Heart group and many other areas of the church. He was a die-hard Clemson fan and avid supporter of Wade Hampton High School, where he was a member of the booster club, helped with the athletic department, and could be found doing just about anything the school needed. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting when he was able. Mr. Glynn was an excellent cook. He enjoyed cooking for and entertaining his family and friends and was well-known for his lemon blossoms and catfish stew. Most of all, he loved his Lord and his family, especially his grandchildren.
