Mr. Charles Lee Collins, 89, of Branchville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest November 27, 2021, at Pruitt Health in Walterboro.
Mr. Charles was born September 7, 1932, in North Hampton, Virginia, he was the third of four children to the late Mr. Walter Lee Collins and the late Mrs. Queenie Elizabeth Bracey Collins. Mr. Charles was always studious and quiet throughout his childhood and young adult hood. After graduating high school, Charles moved from his hometown of Eastville, Va., to Long Island , New York. He married his highschool sweetheart, Drunette Collins. They had a son whom was with them for six years till his early passing.
Charles was a very religious man and was a deacon at Hollywood Baptist Church. He was also known as a true family man and was unconditionally loved by all of his relatives. Charles was a great mechanic and did well in his work as an automechanic. He had a love for all types of cars and was a avid NASCAR fan.
After his retirement he moved down to South Carolina along with his wife. When Mrs. Collins later became ill, he became her caretaker, devoting all his time to her needs until her passing.
He was a gentle, God-fearing soul who was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by: his sister, Mary Nottingham in Amityville, New York; and a host of nieces and nephews from all around.
