Mr. Charles Henry Boozer, 88, of Edisto Beach, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his residence. Charles was born March 22, 1936, in Denmark, South Carolina, to the late Harold Smith Boozer and Willie Delle Hutto Boozer.
Charles graduated from Clemson College in 1959. He owned and operated Palmetto Boat Manufacturing Company before retiring to Edisto Beach in 1994. He loved Airedales, aviation, Clemson, the Edisto River, and his grandchildren (not necessarily in that order).
Charles was a member of Block C Club at Clemson. He co-founded the Sandhills Aero Club at Owens Field. He also enjoyed being a part of the breakfast club at the Sea Cow.
Surviving are: his beloved wife of 61 years, Ethelynn Hames Boozer; son, Charles “Charlie” Boozer, Jr.; daughter, Ellen Watry and her husband Tony of Milton, Georgia.; and four grandchildren; Allison, Spencer, Catherine, and Benjamin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in his name be made to Clemson LIFE Program. Checks can be made payable to: Clemson University Foundation, Post Office Box 1889, Clemson, South Carolina, 29633. Please note that the memo should read “In Memory of Charles Boozer – B2984” or to the Denmark Cemetery Association, Post Office Box 387, Denmark, South Carolina 29042.
The Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, August 24, 2024, from Edisto Island United Methodist Church, 8193 Palmetto Road, Edisto Island, South Carolina, 29438.
