Mr. Charles Melvin “Bugger” Benton, 58, entered into rest Friday morning, December 8, 2017, at his home in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017, from Rice Patch Christian Church, 15246 Sniders Highway, Islandton. The Reverend Tom Polk and The Reverend Mike Polk officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
Born January 14, 1959, in Colleton County, he was a son of Mrs. Virginia Polk Carter and the late Mr. Eugene Berkley Benton. Bugger loved hunting and fishing and was always willing to do for others. He possessed a special place in his heart for children.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Walterboro are: two brothers, Gene Benton and his wife Debbie of Mississippi and Donny Benton and his wife Mary of Arizona; three nieces; three nephews; and many cousins.
