Mr. Charles Harold Beach, 84, of 1342 Green Pond Highway, Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Friday evening, August 21, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, August 25, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment with military honors provided by the United States Navy will follow at 2:30 in Beaufort National Cemetery, 124 Boundry Street, Beaufort.
Mr. Beach was born March 14, 1925, in Colleton County and was a son of the late William Monny Bill Beach and the late Irene Ritter Beach. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy During World War II and was a retired Purchasing Agent from the old Colleton County Hospital in Walterboro. Also, for close to fifty years he was seen weekly working for the Walterboro Stock Yards. He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church at Ritter where in earlier years he was active in many aspects of the churchs work. He was an avid outdoors man, having hunted the property of Dawn Plantation for big game for nearly fifty years as well as taking every opportunity to fish the local creeks of Colleton County. He was devoted to his family and will always be remembered for the love he possessed for his family and people.
Surviving are: his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Mrs. Lou Beach; two sons, W. Allan Beach and his wife Cindie of Walterboro and Charles H. Chuck Beach and his wife Terry of Beaufort; five daughters, Terry Campbell and her husband Trenholm of Walterboro, Nancy Fralin and her friend Ed Craven of Walterboro, Melodie Hayes and her husband Donnie of Walterboro, Denise Catterton and her husband Ross of Bear Island, and Jodi Maguire and her husband Shawn of Edisto Beach; a brother, Johnnie M. Beach of Camarillo, California; two sisters, Lois White and Connie Brand both of Daytona Beach, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Ada Beach of Summerville. There are seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Beach and Madison Beach.
