Catherine Nettles

Mrs. Catherine “Cathie” Nettles, 73, of Ruffin, entered into rest Friday morning, July 3, 2026, at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born September 26, 1952, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she served our country faithfully in the United States Marie Corp. Being no stranger to hard work and a “jack of all trades”, she was an industrial electrician and had worked as a teacher for the deaf and blind. She will always be remembered for her love of fishing, crafting, Nascar racing and football.

Surviving are: her husband, Larry Nettles; three children, Robert Rich (Angie) of Texas, Joe Nettles (Dawn) of Columbia, and Lauren Nettles of Columbia; a sister, Carol Ann Snyder (Ken); four grandchildren, Connelly, Grant, Derrick, and Jason; and a brother-in-law, David Nettles. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Vincent Miller.

The family has requested that memorials in her memory to be directed to the following: Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston or to the Disabled American Veterans.
