Cathy Herndon

Catherine Lynn Herndon, affectionately known as “Cathy”, 65, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, July 17, 2026, at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Born June 18, 1961, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of Eugenia Jones Herndon and the late Jackie LeGrand Herndon, Sr. Cathy was a longtime employee of Walmart in Walterboro. She was raised in Evergreen Christian Church and also attended Northside Christian Church. Cathy was known for her fun-loving personality. She was always willing to do anything she could for anyone but if you knew Cathy you knew she always let you know what she thought and where you stood with her.

Surviving are: her mother, Eugenia Jones Herndon of Walterboro; sister, Sandra Herndon Roberts and her husband Charles of Walterboro; brother, Jackie LeGrand Herndon, Jr. and his wife Glenda of Walterboro; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her longtime companion, Al O’Tuel of Walterboro. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer “Jenny” Herndon Coste; and a brother, Michael “Mike” Herndon.

A memorial service will be held 10 o’clock, Saturday morning, July 25, 2026, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.
