Catherine Herndon

Mrs. Catherine Judy Herndon, 85, of Walling Road, in Islandton, entered into her eternal rest Saturday evening, March 26, 2011, at the Heritage Health Care Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Churchyard, 37 Forks Road, Islandton.



Mrs. Herndon was born November 3, 1925, in Dorchester County and was a daughter of the late Samuel Preston Judy and the late Ida Catherine Canady Judy. She attended Peniel Baptist Church in Islandton. She will be fondly remembered for her sweet and tender nature, always centering her life around her loving family through heartfelt love or through her wonderful southern cooking. She also possessed an avid love for fishing the local creeks and rivers of Colleton County.



Surviving are: her husband of thirty-six years, Mr. Herbert Herndon; a daughter, Sherry Outz of Columbia; two step-sons, Johnny Herndon and his wife Linda of Islandton, and Ricky Herndon and his wife Sonya of Hendersonville; a step-daughter, Patricia Wolfe of Summerville; a sister, Ida Lou Sharpe of Walterboro; a nephew, Carnel Whitten of Orangeburg; and a niece, Kathy Sharpe Watford of Walterboro. There are thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Robinson.
