Catherine Davis

Mrs. Catherine Doris Davis, 85, of 170 Sangaree Road, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, December 11, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice.



The funeral service will be conducted at 2 oclock Tuesday afternoon, December 14, 2010, at the Fletcher Funeral Service Chapel, 1218 North Main Street, Fountain Inn, with The Reverend Roger Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Highway, Greenville. The family will receive friends from the Greenville area in the Stateroom of Fletcher Funeral Service prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1 oclock that afternoon.



Mrs. Davis was born February 23, 1925, in Greenville, and was a daughter of the late Richard C. Eppes and the late Clara Allen Eppes Hall. She was a retired supervisor from the cloth room of J.P. Stevens, Inc. in Walterboro. While in the Walterboro area she attended the First Assembly of God and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Greenville. She was a former ball room dance instructor and she will be fondly remembered for her loving nature, being a gracious and dedicated caregiver to her late husband, her children, grandchildren, and many others whom she loved.



Surviving are: two sons, Jimmy Davis of Greenville and Jerald Davis and his wife Susie of Walterboro; two daughters, Joan Buchanan and her husband Joseph of Travelers Rest and Donna Pinckney and her husband Bernard of Walterboro; two brothers, William Eppes and Leroy Eppes both of Anderson; and a sister, Cleo Johnson of Easley. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Davis and her daughter, Harriet Wynn. There are sixteen grandchildren, Matt, Micah, Mary-Danielle, Suzette, Suzanne, Tina, Gena, Melissa, Karen, Stacy, Melissa, Sherri, Jerald, Jr., Cara, Jim, Jonathan, Jenna, Drew, Derek; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren that also survive.
