Cassidy Lyons

October 8, 1998 — September 12, 2020

Walterboro, South Carolina

Miss Cassidy Louise Lyons, 21, of Cypress Pond Road, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Saturday morning, September 12, 2020.

Cassidy was born October 8, 1998, in Charleston, and was a daughter of The Reverend Rodney Lee Lyons, Sr. and Samantha Beach Lyons. She was a graduate with honors from Colleton County High School – Class of 2017.  While at Colleton County High School she for some time participated in the school accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program.  She then began at The University of South Carolina, where currently she was a third-year nursing student.  She had received a double Associates Degree, an Associates in Science and an Associates in Arts from The University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Campus in December of 2019.  She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church where she had been active serving with the church’s youth program and was a dedicated volunteer with the church’s Food Pantry Ministry. She was also dearly devoted to helping with Vacation Bible School.  As a pastor’s daughter she knew what it was to show up and help with whatever was needed, which was her natural inclination, to help in anyone in anyway and with anything that she could.    She was a country gal at heart.   She loved being on four wheelers and hunting.  Cassidy was larger than life.  Her smile was infectious, and her heart was even greater.  This world is a better place today having known Cassidy Louise Lyons. Surviving are: her parents, The Reverend Rodney and Samantha Lyons of Walterboro; brother, Rodney Lee Lyons, Jr. (Alexandra Crosby) of Walterboro; sister, Dallas Amber Lyons (Aaron Hiers) of Walterboro; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Darlene O’Quinn Lyons of Walterboro; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Carolyn McGrady Beach of Ruffin; nieces, Shyanne Louise Walker and Summer Bay Hiers; her best friends that she loved as sisters, a cousin, Ashley Segura (Michael) of Walterboro and Kristina Hiers of Walterboro; as well as a special family friends who was like a grandfather to Cassidy, Mr. Gerald Reeves of Cottageville; and a host of extended family and friends whom dearly loved her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Talia Lynn Lyons; and her two grandfathers, Mr. Bernard Ray Lyons, Sr. and Mr. Donald L. Beach. Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed to Edgewood Baptist Church, Food Pantry Ministry, 138 Wildwood Drive, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, September 16, 2020, from Edgewood Baptist Church, 138 Wildwood Drive, Walterboro, with The Reverend Gordon Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.  The funeral service will be live streamed from The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory Facebook page and website.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro, 843.538.5408.  Visit the registry online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
