Carroll Easterlin

Carroll McClear Easterlin, 77, of Walterboro, passed away on July 7th, 2024, at Pruitt Health Care in Walterboro.

Carroll was born on October 13, 1946, in Walterboro, South Carolina to Gilbert Easterlin and Nina (Thompson) Easterlin of Walterboro, South Carolina. After Carroll graduated from Walterboro High School in 1964, he attended college and was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Carroll had a lifelong love of music, banana pudding, and crossword puzzles. He found great joy in the beach and the serenity of nature. He was a dedicated sports enthusiast who relished every opportunity to watch baseball and football games.

Carroll was predeceased by his brothers Grayson Easterlin and Hugh Blair Easterlin. He is survived by his brother James Easterlin; children Melanie (Joey) Ritter, Sonya (Henry) Benton, Lance Easterlin, and Megan Easterlin; grandchildren Justin Ritter, Jarrett Ritter, Jessica Grubb, Sarah Benton, Brayden Easterlin, Elias Hill, and Noah Hill; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hazel Easterlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Message from Carroll’s children: To honor our father’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Carroll’s memory in your own ways. We know that he will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
