Carroll Eugene Clark, Sr.

March 19, 1939 — August 22, 2015

Mr. Carroll Eugene Clark, Sr., 76, of Green Pond, entered into rest Saturday morning, August 22, 2015, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  He was the loving husband for fifty-four years to the late Mrs. Carolyn Ingool Clark.

Born March 19, 1939, in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Orlando Eugene “O.E.” Clark and the late Marie Hartley Clark.  Mr. Clark was employed with Chevron where he devoted and faultless career of fifty years.  Throughout his career, he oversaw the daily operations of the Lab as a Petroleum Inspector and Senior Lab Technician before retiring as a Chemist.    He was an avid gun collector and held a great knowledge of history to include the Civil War period.   He dearly loved his wife and family and the greatest and most treasured days of his life have been the years he spent enjoying the outdoors and nature at his home on the Ashepoo River.

Surviving are: three children, Carroll Eugene “Gene” Clark, Jr. and his wife Michele of Beaufort, Sherri Clark Hurcomb and her husband Phillip of Green Pond, Matthew Brett Clark and his wife Marianne of Auburn, Georgia; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; as well as his beloved K9 companion, “CoCo”.

Private graveside funeral services will be conducted at the Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro with a public memorial service to follow at a later date.
