Mrs. Carole Allen Linder, 63, of 211 Center Street in Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Friday morning, March 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at her residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o'clock Monday afternoon, March 19, 2012, from Berea Advent Christian Church, 76 Christian Drive, Smoaks, with The Reverend Travis Hutchenson officiating. Interment will follow in Hagan Cemetery, Smoaks. The family has requested that the Board of Directors and employees of Wells Fargo Bank serve as honorary escorts during the funeral ceremony and would need to assemble at the church at 3:30 that afternoon.
Mrs. Linder was born October 9, 1948, in Kingstree, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late James Linder Allen and the late Theresa Mims Allen. She was employed in various secretarial positions by Asten Hill, Inc. in Walterboro prior to their closing of the plant for thirty-two years, and for the past ten years has been a teller for Wachovia Bank now known as Wells Fargo in Walterboro. She was a longtime member of Berea Advent Christian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Church Clerk as well as having been active in many other areas of the Church's work. Carole was an active person always living life to the fullest and loved everyone she knew. She enjoyed gardening and spending time in her yards. She also loved to sew and read. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family , but more especially the joy her granddaughter brought to her life.
Surviving are: her husband of forty-four years, Mr. James A. "Punk" Linder; a daughter, Jennifer Kristen Smoak and her husband whom Carole loved as her own son, Reginald Wallace Smoak, Jr.; one grandchild, Brittni Nicole Smoak; three brothers, Robert Milton Allen and his wife Brenda of Florence, Keith Leonard Allen and his wife Linda of Florence, and Charles Kenneth Allen and his wife Nina of Summerville; and a sister, Donna McCutcheon of Sumter. There are several nieces and nephews that also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Faye McGrew and a brother Jimmy Allen.
Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to Hagan Cemetery Fund, care of 229 Fairlight Circle, Smoaks, South Carolina 29481
