Carol Rentz Jones

Mrs. Carol Rentz Jones,63, of Walterboro, entered into a peaceful sleep  Monday morning, January 3, 2022 at her residence.

Born August 20, 1958, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Reginald Rentz and the late Eunice Erwin Rentz. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known has "Little Bit". Every summer you would find her getting ready for her trips to Edisto Beach and crabbing at Bear Island. She loved all kind of seafood. She was one of the best cooks there was, from seafood to big Sunday dinners. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. The generous love she had for her “fur babies”, Peaches, Miracle and Ginger were beyond words. Carol was loved by all and will be greatly missed.  She was raised to know Christ in the family church, First Christian Church of Walterboro where over the years she worshiped.

Surviving are: four children, Kelly Morris (John) of Round O, Reggie Searson (Katelyn) of Smoaks, Becky Beach of Walterboro, and Lewis Beach (Beth) of Walterboro; a sister, Carla R. Schmitt of Walterboro; fifteen grandchildren, Zach, Billy, Bradley “Boo Boo”, Courtney, Breanna, Cairah, Jadah, Justin, Karslyn, Autumn “Pookie”, Aven, Aubree, Ausha-Ann, Bryson, and Tyler “Henry”; seven great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Brian Smoak.   She is survived by a large host of cousins and extended family members to include her dear cousin, Loretta and Donald Lyons; dear and special friends, Tommy Groves, Karen Driggers, Diane Melander, and Darla Beach; as well as a special neighbor, Judy Koger.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, January 6, 2022, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
