Carol Cunnane

Mrs. Carol Mathis Cunnane, affectionately known to all as Ditty, age 87, of Walterboro died Tuesday evening, December 30, 2008, at Colleton Courtyard in Walterboro under the care of Odyssey Health Care. She was the wife of the late Mr. Francis Joseph Cunnane, Jr.



The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 oclock Saturday morning, January 3, 2009, from Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 925 Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro with The Reverend Father Donald Abbot officiating. The family will hold the Final Commendation and Farewell at a later date.



Mrs. Cunnane was born March 11, 1921, in Kingstree and was a daughter of the late Samuel A. Mathis and the late Sudie Wingate Mathis. She retired from the Dogwood Hills Country Club where she worked in the food preparation area of the Restaurant. She was a longtime member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Walterboro.



Surviving are: two sons, Thomas M. Williams, III of Crescent, Georgia and Francis Joseph Frank Cunnane, III of Mont Pleasant; a daughter, Sudie L. Cunnane of Charleston; and one brothers, Walter D. Boby Mathis of Walterboro. There are eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Bootsie Wilder.
