Ms. Carmela Ray Smith, 69, of Smoak Road, Walterboro, entered into rest Monday, March 10, 2014 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Edgewood Baptist Church, 138 Wildwood Drive, Walterboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born September 25, 1944 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Ray James Smith and Ida Mae O'Quinn Lincoln. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she was an active helper with the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet ministry and was a former teacher of the Doers of the Word Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed sewing and reading.
Surviving are: her children, Robin Barnes and her husband John of Walterboro, Teresa Carter and her husband Billy of Walterboro, David Smith and his wife Gloria of Yorktown, Virginia, and Scarlett Phillips of Walterboro; 11 grandchildren, Laurel Smith and her husband Nick, Sophia Judge and her husband Brian, Olivia Laird and her husband Bryant, Victoria Hall and her husband Hunter, Michaela Busch and her husband Colton, Kristen Carter, Anna Smith, Kathleen Smith, Megan Smith, Reagan Phillips and Michael Wilson; and 8 great grandchildren, Hayden Smith, Katie Smith, Preston Smith, Liam Judge, Ethan Judge, Ryleigh Kate Laird, Molly Laird, and Andi Busch.
