Obituary

Mr. Carlton Harold Taylor, Jr., affectionately known to everyone as “Buck” 66, of Walterboro, SC entered into eternal rest Friday, February 13, 2026 at his residence. He was born in LaGrange, Indiana on June 10, 1959. He was the son of the late Carlton Taylor and the late Marybelle Miller Taylor Wires. He attended school in Wolcottville, Indiana and then went on to Northside School in Elkhart, Indiana. While in school Carlton worked for Hively Street Farmers Market. The owner of the market Mr. Art always treated him like a son.

Buck grew up on a farm; he loved the farm and all the adventures he would share with his siblings and friends. Buck loved being with his family as well. Every year he would host a Buck Fest at his home. He held various jobs throughout his career, even owning his own Air Duct and Carpet Cleaning businesses. Buck’s passion was music. He started playing the drums at the age of 16. He played in many Rock n Roll bands throughout Indiana, Michigan, and South Carolina. Playing drums and recording music made Buck incredibly happy. Buck also enjoyed riding his Harley all over the United States and back county roads. His hobbies also included boating, fishing, and four wheeling. Buck had the biggest heart and if you were fortunate to have him as a friend, you had a treasure beyond measure.

Carlton is survived by his loving partner Susan Fischer, two daughters; April Taylor of Elkhart, Indiana and Haley Taylor of Charleston, South Carolina; a son Kyle Cencelewski of New Carlisle, IN; four granddaughters Siarra and Alexus Pontius, Leeana and Aleecia Kuchenbrod that called him Popa; a sister Mary Ellen Auman (Fred) of Wolcottville, IN; brothers Ray Taylor (Linda) of Kendallville, IN., David Taylor (Marcia) of Sturgis, MI; several nieces and nephews that called him UB for Uncle Buck, and two very special people in his life Maureen Keegan of Illinois was like a mother to Buck and Colleen Keegan of Illinois was like a sister.

Buck will surely be missed by his German Shepard Bodie and his cat Pepper.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Gordon and Michael Taylor; sisters Jackie Tombs, Linda Crotts, and Georgene (Heltzel) Wilson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carlton requested to be cremated and that his celebration of an incredible life be celebrated in your own special way. Memorials in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
