Mr. Ervin Hickman Long, affectionately known to everyone as “Bud”, 61, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Monday evening, August 7, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 25, 1962, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late JoAnn Thompson Long. He was a retired carpenter and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, “Poppa”, brother, and uncle who dearly loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Surviving are: his wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Mock Long of Walterboro; children, Gregory Michael Long (Kenzie), Christine Stanley (Tony), Kerra Hickman (Matt), and Rebecca Stanley (Harrison); grandchildren, C.J. Evans, Justin Evans, Taylor Evans, Ivy Wade, Brandon Smoaks, and Ralph Stanley; great grandchildren, Austin, Maevery, John, Callie, Mason, Ryder, and Drake; brother, Billy Long of Walterboro; sister, Christi Amick (Anthony) of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Megan Long, Aiden Amick, Kyliegh Amick, Brylee Bishop, and Kinsley Long; as well as his aunt and uncle, Dean and June Burnhart. He was preceded in death by his mom; and a sister-in-law, Caroline Morton Long.
Funeral services will be held 4 o’clock, Friday afternoon, August 11, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. A private interment service will be held at Long Family Cemetery.
