Brenda Simon

Brenda Mole Simon, 78, of Varnville, passed peacefully into her Lord and Savior’s arms on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Colleton Medical Center, surrounded by those who loved her. She was the wife of the late Frank Richard Simon, Jr.

Mrs. Simon was born July 12, 1948, in Jasper County, to the late Leon Wallace Mole and Agnes Still Mole. She lived a life marked with warmth and grace.

Mrs. Brenda was a homemaker for many years. She was a devoted and faithful member of Deep Branch Baptist Church. Her faith and church family were an important part of her life. She enjoyed being a part of the Women’s Ministry Union (WMU) classes, she taught children’s Sunday school for many years and enjoyed helping with Operation Christmas Child. She was a member of the Deep Branch Baptist Church Benevolence Committee; helping serve food to those who had lost loved ones. In her later years, when she was unable to physically participate, she continued to support the benevolence committee by giving monetary donations.

In her spare time, you could always find her with a book in her hands or a grandchild in her arms. Mrs. Brenda treasured her time with her family and cherished every minute spent with her grandchildren, whether it was taxiing them to and from school, music lessons, football practices and even the hay fields. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her family will remember all those special moments spent with her, both great and small.

Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.

Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Tina Sheffield (Joseph), Miles Bennett, and Frank Richard “Trey” Simon, III (Cassie), all of Varnville; her grandchildren, Stephanie Crapse (Brent), Laura Sheffield (Aimee), Miles Clark Bennett, Emily Rose Bennett, Elijah Hernandez, Frank Richard “Chad” Simon, IV; her great grandchild, Avery Sheffield; two very special nephews, Robert Williams and Gregg Williams, both of Camp Branch; special cousins, Madera Stanley of Crocketville and Nancy E. Wallace of Marietta, Georgia; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Renee Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Deep Branch Baptist Church, 848 Ficken Road, Early Branch, South Carolina 29916.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, at Deep Branch Baptist Church, 134 Deep Branch Road, Varnville. Interment will follow in Harmony Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Crocketville.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 o’clock until the hour of service in the church sanctuary.
