Bonnie Mclauchlin

Ms. Bonnie Sue McLauchlin, 64, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning July 26, 2020 at Summerville Community Hospice House.

Born July 5, 1956 in Horry County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. McLauchlin and Iris Victoria Geddings Bennett.  She spent her life in Law Enforcement, beginning in the late ‘70’s with the City of Walterboro and eventually transitioning to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Department.  She retired in 2005. Throughout her Law Enforcement career, she held many positions including Victim’s Advocate, Jail Administrator, Dispatcher and Detective.  Bonnie enjoyed playing cards with her friends, singing and cooking and especially watching Judge Judy.  While she truly loved her career and the people she met, more than anything she loved her family and friends.

Surviving are: her children, Carl Cayce Wiggins of Walterboro and Melodi Iris McLauchlin of Walterboro; brother, Charles H. McLauchlin, III and his wife Rhonda of Walterboro, sisters, Suzie Dale Huggins of Myrtle Beach, Charla Hara McLauchlin Rodriguez and her husband Eloy of Greenville, and Patti Kate McLauchlin of Key West, Florida; sister by choice, Melodie Beach Hayes of Walterboro; grandchildren, Ava McKenzie Hunt, Olivia Grace Hunt, Christopher Austin Hunt, Alexa Brittany Hunt, Alexandria Renee McLauchlin Trepanier, Patrick Jacob McLauchlin, Susan Abigail McLauchlin, and Madison William Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to especially thank Amber Keck Hill, PA, for the years of dedicated service and her outstanding devotion she gave to Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2020 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.  The service will be live streamed through the Brice Herndon Facebook page and website for those that cannot attend.
