Mr. Bobby Dean Lyons, Sr., 70, of Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin, entered into rest Monday morning, April 28, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Helen Phillips Lyons.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Thursday morning, May 1, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Smyly Cemetery, Ruffin.
Born October 11, 1943, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of the late Walter Dixon Lyons and the late Susie Myers Lyons. He served in the Army National Guard and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Berea Advent Christian Church and will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and hunting.
Surviving are: a son, Bobby Dean Lyons, Jr. and his companion Nancy Frakes of Walterboro; two daughters, Deana Michelle Lyons and her companion Chad Martin of Walterboro and Jodi Ann Lyons Riley and her husband Tony Riley of Ruffin; two brothers, Howard Lyons and his wife Alice of Bamberg and Walter Marion Lyons and his wife Connie of Smoaks; and three sisters, Emma Sue Hodges and her husband James of Walterboro, Nancy Smith and her husband Ben of Walterboro, and Lenora Folk of Bamberg. There are six grandchildren, Cody Padgett, Taylor Lyons, Taylen Lyons, Dakota Walton, Brandon Dean, and Tuesday Wilson that also survive.
