Mr. Bobby Lloyd Lane, 76, of Walterboro, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services were held 2 pm, Saturday, February 28, 2009, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment followed in Glendale Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Lane was born July 17, 1932 in Reidsville, Georgia and was a son of the late Lester Talmadge Lane, Sr. and Naomi Bishop Lane. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Paratrooper and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for over 30 years where he was a Nuclear Inspector. Mr. Lane was an avid outdoorsman and loved everything about nature but will most remembered as being a friend to all. He was a member of Living Word Outreach Ministries and truly loved working in the church.
Surviving are: his sister, Melrose Lane Cox and her husband Curtis of Ladson; brother, James C. Lane, Sr. and his wife Moselle of Moncks Corner; a special friend and caregiver, Anissa Floyd Jennings of Walterboro; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Ellison and Maddox Lane. He was preceded in death by three brothers, L.T. Lane, Jr., Tommie Lane and Billy Lane.
