Bobby Dean Groves, Jr.

Mr. Bobby Dean Groves, Jr., 28, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday, April 8, 2023.

He was born September 2, 1994, in Walterboro, South Carolina.  He was the son of Bobby Dean Groves, Sr. and Paddy Mae Robertson.  He loved hunting, fishing, and was an excellent pool player.  He was a hard worker, always good to everyone he met, had a heart of gold and could tell jokes that would keep you laughing.  Most of all, when he smiled, you felt the love he had for you.

Surviving are: his wife, Caitlyn Gaydon Groves; mother, Paddy Robertson; father, Bobby Groves, Sr.; grandmother, Evelyn Robertson; brothers, Brandon Groves, Mark Groves (Jessica), Justin Groves and Mitch Evans (Crystal); sisters, Beth Groves (Lewis), Kortney Groves, and Jennifer Groves (Carlton); best friends, Christopher Padgett, Kyler Garvala and Cody Stroupe; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; several nieces and nephews; and his lab, Ripley.

He was preceded in death by: his grandfathers, Larry G. Robertson and Gene Groves; grandmothers, Doris Ann Groves and Jeannie Traxler; and uncles, Larry B. Robertson and Robert C. Robertson.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2023, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow at Little Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hunters Chapel Road, Smoaks.
