Mr. Frank Robert Logan, a compassionate, loving, and caring friend known as "Bob", age 59, of Dopson Road, Islandton, entered into his eternal rest Thursday afternoon, June 21, 2012, at his residence under the care of Odyssey Hospice.
A celebration of his life will be conducted 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, with The Reverend David Cox officiating.
The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Harbiston Stateroom of the mortuary.
Bob was born December 31, 1952, a native of Greenwood he was a son of the late Leon Thomas Logan and the late Sarah Dorn Logan, having lived in Charleston before making Islandton his home for the past twelve years. He was a member of McHenry United Methodist Church in Edgefield. Bob spent most of his career in the food industry; having managed several restaurants to include JoAnn's Restaurant in North Charleston and along with his partner was co-owner of Tops in Summerville and the Whistle Stop Café© in Augusta, Georgia. Bob was a talented person whose skill and artistry expanded well beyond most normal ability. He was fabulous at crochet work, sewing, and making home draperies. He was also excellent with construction work from home additions to crafts. He was a natural artist at decorating for holidays and designing interior dé©cor. Bob was a loving person, always willing to give his all to the ones he loved as well as a complete stranger. He was always present, willing to help, an excellent cook, and a privilege to have known and loved during this life time. Bob was also a well known icon in the Islandton community, having been a well loved part of the former Dopson Corner Store.
Surviving are: a brother, Olin Logan of Aiken; and an aunt, Mrs. Millie Prince of Aiken.
There were special people in Bob's life whom he loved dearly, and they considered themselves blessed to have been considered by Bob as his second family, Wayne and Judy Moore of Islandton, David Forbes, Jr. of Islandton, Leah and Kent Tisdale of Blairsville, Georgia, Rhonda and David Johnson of Hampton, and Ashley and Clint Crosby of Walterboro; his caregiver, Susan Carter; and a very dear friend, Tammy Rahn.
