Mr. Bob Jack King, 85, of 2109 Lexington Circle, Little River, SC died Thursday evening, October 30, 2008, at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro.
Mr. King was born September 7, 1923, in Jerome, Idaho and was a son of the late Ivan R. King and the late Katharyn Burgoine King. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific. He was retired from the Housing Department of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and was of the Episcopalian faith. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lawrence, Kansas Lodge No. 546, and was a member of the American Legion. He will be remembered for his love of playing golf.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-nine years, Mrs. Rosemary Nation King; a son, John Nation King; two daughters, Katharyn Rose King of Omaha, Nebraska and Stacy Lynn King of Little River, South Carolina; and a sister, Donna King Saile of Baldwin City, Kansas. There are five grandchildren, Corbin, Cameron, Kayla, Amber, and Gabrielle; as well as his special companion, Ms. Divot.
The family will hold funeral services at a later date.
