Billy O'Bryant

Billy Ray O’Bryant, 76, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born October 16, 1947, in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Egbert William “E.W.” O’Bryant and Ruby Head O’Bryant.  He worked in sales and marketing having worked with J.P. Stevens in Walterboro and Augusta Fiberglass in Blackville.  He eventually retired and worked part time with Palmetto Homes.  He enjoyed playing golf and watching USC Gamecock football games, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are: his wife, Wanda Payne O’Bryant of Walterboro; children, Pat Schanen (Terri) of Georgia, Jon Schanen (Amy) of Spartanburg, Carie Burris (Pierre) of Kansas, Eric O’Bryant (Jessica) of Missouri, Crissy Pye Rivera (Rick) of Virginia, and Shannon Pye of Walterboro; mother-in-law, Christine Payne of Walterboro; sisters-in-law, Diane O’Bryant of Walterboro and Vickie Tripp (Danny) of Walterboro; grandchildren, Remy, Jada, Emri, Payton, Sara, Brooks, Ellis, Anthony “A.J.”, Lindsey, and Skyler; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles O’Bryant and Jerry O’Bryant; and a sister, Barbara Watson.

Graveside services will be held 1 o’clock, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
