Billy Mccubbins, Sr.

Mr. Billy Neal McCubbins, Sr., 81, of Round O, entered into eternal rest Monday afternoon, February 19, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Dorothy Laverne Hardin McCubbins to whom he was married 58 years.

Born December 17, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, he was a son of the late Golden W. McCubbins and Lula Nalley McCubbins.  He was a retired carpenter who was a hard worker and truly loved his trade.  He loved watching old westerns and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  More than anything, he loved his family.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who helped raise his siblings.

Surviving are: his children, Sherry LaVerne Nichols and her husband Tommy of Smoaks, Rita Lynn Cline and her husband Tommy of Round O, and Billy McCubbins, Jr. and his wife Dee Dee of Cottageville; son-in-law, Gary Hale of Walterboro; sisters, Brenda Faye Spalding, Judy Nalley, Patty Crume, and Helen Johnson; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his daughters, Cindy Hale and Donna Pacetti; two grandchildren, Tara Carte and Joey Pacetti; and siblings, Joseph Randall McCubbins, Dennis Clay McCubbins, Mark Dean McCubbins, and Tammy Potts.

Funeral services will be held 1 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2024, at Walterboro Church of God, 4582 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday beginning at 12 noon in the church sanctuary.
