Bill Wilson

Mr. William Kenneth “Bill” Wilson, 90, of Walterboro, passed away peacefully Friday evening, December 8, 2023, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born November 23, 1933, in Somerville, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Kenneth Ingersoll Wilson and Mae Sangleer Wilson.  Bill graduated from Arlington High School in 1951.  He joined the United States Navy and served upon the USS Midway for three years.  After he was discharged, he traveled south to see family members and decided to stay and make Walterboro his home.  He joined the food service distributor Pearce, Young, Angel in Charleston as a salesman, servicing Walterboro, Beaufort and Hilton Head.  He retired as a District Manager in 1990.

Surviving are: his wife of over 60 years, Betty Sue Williams Wilson of Walterboro; son, Richard “Ricky” Alan Wilson and his wife Connie of Walterboro; granddaughters, Hannah Wilson and Emily Wilson, both of Walterboro; and a sister, Carolyn Hatfield of Athens, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Friend; and a sister, Barbara “Sandy” Smith.

A Gathering of Friends will be held from 11 am until 1 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the home of Ricky and Connie Wilson, 70 Covey Lane, Walterboro, South Carolina.
