Mr. William Wilson “Bill” Black, Sr., 78, of Smoaks, entered into rest Tuesday morning, October 25, 2022, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
He was born December 14, 1943, and was a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He worked for many years with Greenwood Mills in Orangeburg and then worked for thirty years with Dayco in Walterboro where he retired as a Welder Mechanic. He was a member of Buckhead Advent Christian Church in Smoaks. Bill will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and for the strong work ethic that he possessed. He was a master craftsman.
Surviving are: his wife of fifty-six years, Mrs. Amelia Smith Black; two children, Billy Black, Jr. of Smoaks and Madalyn Stone (Bruce) of Round O; two grandchildren, Cody Stone (Amelia) and Tanner Stone; five great grandchildren, Allyson, Aaron, Aaliyaa, Corbin, and Natalie; his sister-in-law, Patricia Smith Smoak; and his two beloved pets, Hook and Lexie; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Ann Black; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dargon and Mattie Smith.
Private graveside funeral services will be held in Little Swamp United Methodist Churchyard.
