Mr. William Preston Breland, Jr., known as “Wild Bill”, 63, of Lodge, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at his residence.

Born December 24, 1960, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was a son of William Preston Breland, Sr. and Mary Loraine Rowell Breland.  Bill was an excellent carpenter who was the best cut man you could find. He loved fishing and had a green thumb that could grow any kind of flower or vegetable that he wanted.  He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Ruffin and was an Eagle Scout.  Most of all, Bill had a heart of gold and dearly loved his family and friends.

Surviving are: his parents, W.P. and Loraine Breland of Lodge; brother, Richard Breland and his wife Sandra of North Carolina; sisters, Trudy Nettles and her husband Duncan of Walterboro, Angie Walker of Chessie Creek, and Judy Risher and her husband Tony of Ruffin; his best friend, Ernie Shaw; and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Lamar Breland.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024, at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.
