Beverly Ann Fowler Green

Mrs. Beverly Ann Fowler Green, 72, of Briarleaf Circle, Walterboro, entered into rest Monday morning, April 29, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, May 2, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend David Jackson, The Reverend Walt Ballenger, and The Reverend James Pedigo officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Churchyard, 7345 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro.

Born May 10, 1940, a native of Waycross, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Fowler and the late Carrie Elizabeth Gatch Fowler. Having lived in Valdosta, Georgia, she made Walterboro her home in 1981, and received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina. She was a special education teacher with the Colleton County School District having retired in 2003 from Colleton County High School. She was a devoted teacher, always providing the best possible education she could to enrich the lives and minds of those she was proud to call with love her students. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. She will be fondly remembered for her love of birds and the many special outings she had with her girls.

Surviving are: her husband of thirty years, Mr. Bobby Ray Green; four daughters, Ann Hough Boyett and her husband Jeffery of Valdosta, Georgia, Elizabeth Parrish Farish and her husband Geoffrey of Ridgeville, Kelly Green Pedigo and her husband James of Cottageville, and Debbie Green Petrie of North Charleston; two brothers, Lloyd Edward Fowler of Walterboro and David Ford Fowler of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister, Martha Fowler Claybaugh of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. There are six grandchildren, Carrie Boyett, Grace Farish, Jacob Farish, Jamie Pedigo, Kaleigh Pedigo, and Sydney Pedigo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
