Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Stone, 77, of 536 Sniders Highway in Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, June 4, 2009, at her residence under the care of Winyah Hospice.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, June 6, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Wesley Chapel Road, Cottageville.



Mrs. Stone was born March 25, 1932, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Mal Ackerman and the late Ruby Bailey Blanton. She was a retired secretary from Heileg " Meyers Furniture Company in Walterboro and was a member of Cottageville Baptist Church. She will be fondly remembered for her love preparing good southern cooking.



Surviving are: her husband of forty-five years, Mr. Angris Morris Stone; five sons, Curt Reeves of Walterboro, John Reeves of Hampton, George Reeves of Walterboro, Barry Reeves of Minnesota, Chris Stone of Walterboro; two brothers, James Ackerman and Charles Ackerman both of North Charleston; and one sister, Jeanette Reeves of Cottageville. There are thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews that also survive.



The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the Administration, Nurses and staff of Winyah Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Mrs. Stone and her family during her days of illness.
