Mrs. Betty Polk Stone, 62, of 202 Meadowlake Drive, Hendersonville, entered into her state of eternal rest Tuesday morning, February 22, 2011, surrounded by her family, and under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.



Funeral services will be conducted 4 oclock Friday afternoon, February 25, 2011, from the Hendersonville Baptist Church, 893 Bachelor Hill Road, Hendersonville, with The Reverend Gerald Mabry and The Reverend Ned Frownfelter officiating. Interment will follow in Stokes Cemetery, Hendersonville Highway, Hendersonville.



Mrs. Stone was born November 29, 1948, in Colleton County, and was a daughter of the late Palmer Polk and the late Dorothy Stanley Polk. She was formerly a floral designer with The Petal Palace Florist having worked very closely with Mrs. Shirley Beach during the founding of the business. She attended Hendersonville Baptist Church, where she was very active in many aspects of the churchs work. She was also involved in the Edisto Beach Vacation Bible School ministry through the Colleton Baptist Association. She collected dolls and loved to fish the local creeks of Colleton County and enjoyed many camping excursions with close friends whom she loved dearly. She will be fondly remembered for the joy of having cookouts with her family and friends and she greatly treasured those gatherings.



Surviving are: her husband of forty-six years, Mr. Charles Lamar Buddy Stone; one daughter, Karen Stone Blocker and her husband Harold of Hendersonville; two sons, Charles L. Chucky Stone and his wife Bridgette of Walterboro and Michael L. Stone and his wife Linda of Hendersonville; three brothers, Bobby Polk and his wife Libby of Washington, NC, James Polk of Yemassee and Frank Polk and his wife Vickie of Walterboro; one sister, Emma Lee Polk of Estill; seven grandchildren, Jamie Barrineau and his wife Laura, Jenna Crosby, Amber Gossett, Blade Stone, Hunter Stone, Tyler Stone and Tyler Blocker; and three great-grandchildren, Lacey Barrineau, Aubrey Gossett and Avlyn Gossett.
