Betty Proveaux

Mrs.  Betty Zorn Proveaux, age 89 of Denmark, SC died June 2, 2018 at the home of her grandson, Paul Hightower where she resided.  Mrs. Proveaux was born September 30, 1928 in Bamberg County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Talbert Zorn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “Mac” Proveaux and their beloved son, Ellerbe Hightower, III, a brother Jerry Zorn and sister Joan Zorn Still.

Mrs. Proveaux was retired from SCE&G where she dedicated 35 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Denmark.  As her ailments progressed she enjoyed singing hymns, listening to devotionals, praying and spending her days with her family.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Bickley Hightower; a grandson, Paul Hightower (Whitney), a granddaughter, Sonya Hobby (Gerald); 3 great grandchildren, a niece Rhonda Still (Jim Bullock) and a nephew Warren Still (Donna).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church of Denmark Home Bound Ministry in her honor.

Graveside services will be conducted 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, June 6, 2018 at Denmark Cemetery, Denmark, SC.
