Betty Iler

Mrs. Betty Louise Iler, 78, of Caw Caw Swamp Road, Brunson, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 27, 2013 at Vibra Hospital in Charleston. She was the widow of the late Kenneth Sherman Iler.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Varnville Cemetery.

Mrs. Iler was born March 2, 1935 in Newark, New Jersey and was a daughter of the late William Jacob Gould and Lottie Fennell Gould. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved traveling. Most of all, she was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who centered her life around taking care of her family.

Surviving are: her children, Debra Chassereau of Brunson, Sheri Lynn Collier of Varnville, John Dwayne Iler of Claxton, Georgia, and Jeffrey Scott Iler of Aiken; brother, Billy Gould of Texas; sisters, Helen Bowers of Islandton, Margaret Alfred of Texas, Barbara Wommack of Texas and Ida Stubbs of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Sherman Iler, Jr.; a great granddaughter, Raelynn Iler; and a brother, Charles William Gould.
