Betty Gunnells

Ms. Betty Jean Gunnells, 77, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, at her residence.

Betty was born November 3, 1947, in Monmouth County, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Milton Morton Foster and Myrtle May Bumgardner Foster.  She graduated from Farmingdale Public School in 1962.  She loved to cook, going shopping and listening to old country music and especially loved Alan Jackson.  Most of all, she loved her family, having her family all together, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Naida Lee of Varnville, and Chris Lee of Cummings; grandchildren, Cody Moseley, Colton Moseley, Amanda Katherine Lee, Anthony Ray Lee, Ellie Jean Holstein Lee, Lisa Lee; great grandchildren, Aubrey Lee, Mark Lee Mosley, Ayden Lee Mosley, Audrina Lee Ginn, Justice Foster, Collin Foster, Maddox Lee, Devyn Mock, Keagan Lee, and Porter Lee; brother, Bobby Foster of New Jersey; and sister, Shirley Foster Messina of New Jersey.  She was preceded in death by her son, Max Hardy Lee, Jr.; and her siblings, Amanda Katherine Foster, Helen Joyce Foster, and Milford Morton Foster, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, March 5, 2025, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.  Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
