Betty Ginn

April 30, 1934 — May 9, 2016

Mrs. Betty Carson Ginn, 82, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family Monday evening, May 9, 2016, at her daughter’s home near Sniders while under the care of Hospice of Charleston.  She was the loving wife of the late Mr. William Robert Ginn, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2016, from the graveside in Welch Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Welch Creek Road, Walterboro.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Born April 30, 1934 in Clinton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Ellis Carson, Sr. and the late Mary Utsey Carson.  Betty dedicated her life to her family and her home.  She worked for a short period of time at Teledyne in Walterboro; however, her greatest work in her life was centering her life around her loving family.  She took great pride in tending to her yards and will always be remembered for the love she had for her flowers.  Another of her favorite pastimes, as well as joys in life, has been the many years she listened to her late husband play his guitar

Surviving are: her daughter, Debbie Ginn Benton of Sniders; two grandchildren, Robert Trenton Jones and his wife Monica and Alexis Jones both of Islandton; six great grandchildren, Caleb Jones, Breanna Jones, Jadah Searson, Cairah Searson, Cameron Jones, and Justin Searson; and a great grandchild, Adalyn Jones.  She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Carven, Adeline Craven, and Dell McCraw all of Walterboro.  She was preceded in by a son-in-law, Wendy Benton; and four siblings, Aaron Carson, Joe Carson, Virginia Craven, and Annie Lou Craven.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Ginn’s caregivers, Sandra Fields and Marie Hayes of the love, care, and devotion they selflessly provided.
