Berry Wayne Preacher

Mr. Berry Wayne Preacher, 72, of Ruffin, entered into rest Monday morning, June 15, 2026, at his residence.

Born November 18, 1953, in Colleton County, he was a son of the late William Harold Preacher, Sr. and the late Janie Pauline Fisk Preacher. He worked for many years at Asten Hill in Walterboro and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, No. 1. Wayne was as avid outdoors and dearly loved hunting and fishing, especially going with his cousin, Dennis and dear friends, Greg and “Sport”. He loved animals, his cats and dog were his family. He also enjoyed watching television as well as televangelist ministers.

Surviving are: two sisters, Mary Ellen Preacher and Karen D. Parrott; a brother, William Harold Preacher, Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, June 22, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Ricky Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Churchyard, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro.
