Berry Murdaugh

Mr. William Berry Murdaugh, 69, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 4, 2022 at Vibra Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Born July 30, 1952 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Wiltz and Bernice Murdaugh.  He was a log truck driver for many years.  Mr. Berry was a faithful member of Welch Creek Baptist Church.  He dearly loved his church, his church family and was always willing to serve in any capacity he could.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening and doing yard work.

Surviving are: his wife of 48 years, Linda Lee Murdaugh of Walterboro; children, Raymond “Ray-Ray” Murdaugh and his wife Danielle of Walterboro and Michelle McMillan and her husband Brian of Walterboro; grandchildren, Stephanie McMillan, JB McMillan, and Easton Hartley; sister, Faye Nettles of Walterboro; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leon “Nubby” Murdaugh, Frank Murdaugh, Roland Murdaugh, and Buck Murdaugh; and sisters, Helen Peeler, Thelma Crosby, and Nell Murdaugh.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Lowcountry Campmeeting, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Monday afternoon, March 7, 2022, at Welch Creek Baptist Church, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation prior to the funeral service beginning at 1 pm in the church sanctuary.
