Benjamin Williams

Mr. Benjamin Paul Williams, 68, of Swansea, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt Chapel. Interment will follow in Carter’s Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was born May 29, 1945 in Islandton and was a son of the late Lloyd and Mary Stevens Williams. He served his country in the United States Army, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Allied Chemical, now known as Honeywell, after 40 years of employment. He had attended Orangeburg Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Williams was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing, but also loved nature. He enjoyed the simple things in life, but most of all, he was a kind and loving man.

He is survived by: his wife, Delora Fonda Gaites Williams of Swansea; children, Kenneth Paul Williams and Shannon Michelle Williams, both of Swansea; brothers, Bobby Joe Williams of Allendale and Patrick Williams of Brunson; grandchildren, Justin Baker and Joshua Baker; and a great grandson, Tristin Baker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Williams; and a sister, Helen Schromek.
