WALTERBORO- Mr. Benjamin Roy Risher, affectionately known to all as Plowboy, 63, of Walterboro, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Christian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Risher was born May 20, 1945 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Benjamin LeRoy Risher and Clara Mahaffey Risher. He was a retired truck driver with Risher Trucking. Roy was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He deeply loved his family and friends but his greatest passion was for his trucks. On December 9, 2008, Roy made the greatest decision of his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Surviving are: his wife, Lynn Valentine Risher of Walterboro; daughters, Marlene Stanfill and her companion, Ralph Cook of Walterboro and Julie Crosby and her husband Tommy of Walterboro; brother, Clarence Risher and his wife Wanda of Walterboro; sister, Kathy Mixson and her husband Aaron of Walterboro; grandchildren, Tracey Valentine, Candace Crosby, Jennifer Crosby, Royce Stanfill and Travis Cook; great granddaughter, Emma Valentine; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
