Mrs. Belva Jo Driggers Card, 65, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Pilgrim’s Gospel Mission Memorial Gardens, Garden of Honor on Crestview Lane, Walterboro.
Mrs. Card was born July 21, 1950 in Florence and was a daughter of the late Edmund Driggers and Ina Mae Evans Driggers. She was a member of the Pilgrim’s Gospel Mission. She was a woman of great faith who walked by faith all of her life and loved and served her Lord Jesus faithfully. She will always be remembered for the love she had not only had for her husband and her family and friends, but also the love she had for her fellow man. She helped all of those around her in need and had a great love for her handicapped friend, Ricky Crosby.
Although we always called her “Belva”, she constantly reminded us that she was our “Aunt Belva.” However she was more than an aunt, she was a second mother. Her support of her nieces, nephews and great nephew was absolutely unwavering. She was known to ride bikes, four wheelers, play barbies and take us school clothes shopping. No family gathering was complete without an infamous “Belva Story.” She always kept us laughing. For example demonstrating how to dance while you pump gas in the winter to stay warm. She’s been known to clog and imitate Minnie Pearl. She loved people and especially had a heart for those who had no one else. She was always thinking of others. She never let anyone’s birthday pass without sending them a card. She loved her dogs like they were her children. When she met and married a “Card”, it had to be meant to be, because she could not have had a more appropriate last name. She had the biggest heart and desire to do what was right by others. She is a true godly example of what a Christian should be. She has been a pillar of strength for her family. She loved the lord with all of her heart and never lost faith.
Surviving are: her husband of 39 years, Gregory Wayne Card of Cottageville; sisters, Janice Driggers Bryant (Herman) of Walterboro, Judy Driggers of Walterboro, Edna Driggers Hiott (Allen) of Walterboro, Irma Driggers Stanfill (Roy) of Walterboro, and Grace Driggers of Walterboro; brothers, Harry Driggers (Shirley) of Walterboro, Herbert Driggers of Walterboro, Gerald Driggers (Kathy) of Goose Creek, and Randal Driggers of Walterboro; brother-in-law, Scott Keith Card (Bonnie) of Brooksville, Florida; nieces, Detra Stanfill Roberts, Tamara Stanfill Hiott (Scott), Angela Driggers, and Nikey Wohlschiag (Steven); nephews, Jonathan Stanfill and Justin Colson; a grandniece, Gracen Wohlschiag; and a grand nephew, Andrew Roberts, which she loved dearly and was like a second mother.
