Belinda Hurley Shuler

Mrs. Belinda Hurley Shuler, 66, of Walterboro, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Colleton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, September 30, 2016 at Green Pond Baptist Church, 12295 Green Pond Highway, Green Pond with Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Born May 28, 1950 in Asheboro, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Lesley Harding Hurley and Virginia McGrath Hurley McCormick.  She was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Women on Mission and the Adult Sunday School Class.  She was also active in many activities at the church including Vacation Bible School, assistant Sunday School teacher, and served on many committees throughout the years.  She loved fishing and competed in many fishing tournaments with the Tri-River Bass Club.  She was a member of the National Rifle Association and also enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are: her husband, James Daniel “Danny” Shuler of Walterboro; step-brother, Rogers Browning of Columbia; as well as many close friends that she considered her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Franklin Delano Roosevelt McCormick, and brother, Lesley Michael Hurley.
