Mrs. Beatrice Gray Godley, 83, of Islandton, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Colleton Medical Center. She was the widow of Mr. James Edward Godley.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Peniel Baptist Church, 37 Forks Road, Islandton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Born November 5, 1932 in Allendale County, she was a daughter of the late Newton Gray and Priscilla Donehue Gray. She was a member of Peniel Baptist Church. She loved crocheting, quilting and cooking for her family and friends. Most of all, she loved her family and always centered her life around them.
Surviving are: her children: James “Bo” Godley and his wife Diane of Islandton, Shirley “Cissy” Poston and her husband Steve of Walterboro, Ralph “Bubba” Godley of Varnville, Steven Godley and his wife Debra of Walterboro, David Godley and his wife Trudy of Islandton, Rose Sullivan of Varnville; grandchildren: Ginger, Casey, Tessa, Kent, Brad, J.W., Andrew, Dustin, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Brianna, Devin, Jaylyn and Chris; sisters, Mary Armstrong of Fairfax, Agnes Hadden of Georgia, Ruth Elkins of Allendale, Edna Smith of Allendale, and Elsey Elkins of Brunson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Sullivan; and a brother, Wilbur Gray.
