Barbara J. Wixson

Ms. Barbara J. Wixson, 71, of San Diego, California, entered into rest eternal Friday, April 21, 2023.

A native of San Diego, she was a daughter of the late Ray Wixson and the late Mary Armentrout Evans.  A graduate of Walterboro High School, she lettered in basketball and served as editor of the school’s publication, “The Wildcat”.  She served faithfully in the United States Air Force and was a member of Saint Jude’s Church in Walterboro for many years before returning to California.  She will always be remembered for her love of animals.

Surviving are: her step-father, Mr. Tillman Evans and his wife Susan; a sister, Martie Hooker and her husband Erwin as well as their family; and a brother, Kevin Evans and his wife Tammy as well as their family.

Funeral services will be conducted 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2023, from Saint Jude's Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro.  Father Newman Lawrence, Rector.  Innichment will follow in the columbarium at the Saint Jude's Memorial Garden, where friends will be greeted following the service.
