Mrs. Barbara Ann Walling, 79, of Walterboro, passed away Friday afternoon, July 7, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family and under Hospice Care. She was the widow of Mr. William H. Walling, Jr.
A private graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Peniel Baptist Churchyard, Islandton.
Born October 2, 1937 in Ridgeland, she was a daughter of the late Simmie Smith and Mary “Lizzie” Cook. She was a retired prep gill operator from Whitlock Combing Company in Allendale and was a member of New Hope Advent Christian Church.
Surviving are: her daughters, Cheryl Kirby of Islandton, Janet Trent of Bluffton and Marlene Light of Walterboro; sister, Mary Ann Walsh of Hampton; four grandchildren, Dr. Kristin Kirby, Joshua Trent, Jenna Fleming, and Samantha Light; four great grandchildren, Kylie, Delilah, Levi, and Weston. She was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Walling; and a brother, Coleman Smith.
