WALTERBORO " Mrs. Barbara Anne Bauer Johnson, 72, of Walterboro, beloved wife of David W. Johnson, Sr. died Friday evening, September 12, 2008, at her residence, under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.



Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering, where family and friends are asked to share their memories of Barbaras life if desired from 6 oclock until 8 oclock Tuesday evening at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Walterboro Chapel.



Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, former residents of James Island, owned and operated both James Island Inn and Beachway Auto for over twenty years, before retiring to Walterboro in 2003.



Mrs. Johnson was born August 18, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Geraldine Ryan and the late Charles Bauer.



Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Linda Johnson Ferguson and her husband Randall; three grandsons, Raymond, Christopher, and Ryan all of Naperville, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois; four step-children, Dawn Johnson Winningham and her husband Timothy of Summerville, South Carolina, David Johnson, Jr. and his wife Audra of Warren, Massachusetts, Jeffery A. Johnson of Summerville, South Carolina, Veronica L. Johnson Larson and her husband Todd of Stoughton, Wisconsin; and grandchildren, Kathrine, Sarah, Jessica, Lavern, Jamie, Joseph, David, and Paula; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Robert James Johnson.
